Debut productions from Yoru on a deep and reflective vibe spanning dubstep to electro. ‘Flip Flop’ swims with fluid electro bleeps and submerged breakstep rhythms, ‘Stories’ merges dub techno chords with older Martyn style 2-step patterns and ‘Happy Ghost’ winds a cheeky piano sample into craftily spaced dubtech with a smudged ambient sound sphere. Really strong EP.

“A Different Animal” by Yoru, is a 4 track digital EP and whilst it’s electronic music that has it’s roots in a couple of different genres, it seems to be slightly at odds with its original phylum, a bit of a mutation of the original form.
Flowing from the switchy Dubstepish Flip Flop, to the dub techno of Stories, across the deep submersed drum and bass sounds of “Breath out…” to the uplifting reminiscence of “Happy Ghost” the EP moves and weaves through moods and styles with a deft musicality, and a blend of sounds and styles that we just love here at Rudimentary HQ.
