A big party on the Dutch barge down beside the waterfront hall, the night was rockin, with a real speakeasy feel to it with the whole bring your own vibe, the bizarre venue and the magic atmosphere. It took some setting up, but once it was all sorted, the plan, as they say, really came together, and we loved it!

Junichi Oguro aka GROK is the current International Resident at Digital Arts Studios from Sapporo, Japan. He is a sound designer who has worked with high profile companies and organisations such as Sony for the Playstation 3, OneDotZero and Adidas for the 2008 Olympics.

Oguro will be performing an ambient soundscape using recordings taken throughout the city of Belfast . Using MaxMSP he will involve a reactive visual element: using a video camera he will translate movement, light and colour into sound and constructed visuals.

In 2001, he won the Grand-Prix award in the Roland Groove Competition in 2001 and produced the Techno pattern for the Roland MC-909 groove.

Other artists Oguro has performed with include Ben Sims, Surgeon, DJ Sufflemaster, Co-Fusion, and John Kelly.
